The supermodel, actress, activist, fashion designer and head of her own global beauty company, Iman has been honored with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award. Although the actual award ceremony will be held on June 7th at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, on March, 17th Nadja Swarovski and Diane von Furstenberg announced the nominees and honorees for the 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards at the DVF studio in NYC's Meat Packing District. The video above is a short clip of a longer video available here. In the video Iman invites FashionAir into her New York City home as she flips through a few pages of her book and speaks about how she began modeling and the main reason why she started her own beauty company, Iman Cosmetics. A very inspiring woman with a remarkable story. Iman is 54 years old and still looks exactly the same.

"The New Black" Editorial

I usually refrain from posting this many images from a single editorial but I felt it to be necessary to pay homage to some of my favorite black male models. This editorial, Photographed by Jules Schratter entitled "The New Black" for The Contributing Editor features 7 of todays hottest (most requested) black male models. Names in order of appearance; David Agbodji, Salieu Jalloh, Nate Gill, Oraine Barrett, Mike VanMuers, Ibrahim Baaith and André Douglas. To see the rest of the images (about 8 more) click here.

"Theory of Evolution" Editorial

I love this editorial from Elle US May 2010. Not only because it is in one of my favorite places in New York City, The American Museum of Natural History but it also includes this seasons Haute Couture Gowns from Givenchy, Armani Prive, Valentino, Atelier Versace, Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier and Dior. This editorial features Olga Sherer who was styled by Mario Grauso and Photographed by Carter Smith. If you would like to see it first hand, it appears on pages 249-255 in the issue.

"The Beat of the 1980’s" Editorial

Photographed by Andreas Sjodin, styled by Mauricio Nardi and creative direction by Kris Van Assche (The designer of Dior Homme), this editorial entitled "The Beat of the 1980’s" appears in the first ever issue of GQ China. The models; Thiago Santos, Yvan Thiwissen, Louis Borges and Reinaldo Berthoti did a great job showing off the architectural design of Dior's garments. It has been a while since I have seen an editorial that used only Dior pieces, it needs to happen much more often.

"Peintures de guerre" Editorial

Photographed by Tyen, styled by Emmanuelle Alt and Makeup by Kim with the assistance of Tyen, Anja Rubik appears in this editorial entitled Peintures de guerre (War Paint) for the November 2009 issue of Vogue Paris. Although these shots are beauty shots (shoulders and up) it is clear that the styling was still taken seriously. I also like the change of emotions, in some shots Anja is serious then she's seductive, funny and relaxed. My favorite shot is the first one. Those eyelashes are amazing.
