Hope S/S '10

The design duo, Ann Ringstrand and Stefan Söderberg of Hope presented a functional
collection of tailored separates. The core pieces of menswear were broken down to
meet a criteria best described as relaxed sophistication. The collection revolved around
the idea of individual pieces that work on their own merits. This collection is very relaxed
and yet tailored and the same time. The color palette is very refreshing and brings a spring
feel although it is based primarily of earth tone colors. Which are usually used for Fall/
Winter collections.

Helloooo Gorgeous.

Today in London, Rihanna attended the Inglourious Basterds movie
premiere red carpet. She looks amazing!.

UN.DER T S/S '10

Designer Telfar Clemens announces his new unisex line UN.DER T. Describing the line as
simple, yet complex, Clemens has coined the term simplex. Responding to a growing number
of requests for older styles, UN.DER T will see the reissue of popular garments from Clemens’ mainline. UN.DER T launches for the spring 2010 season at New York City boutique EVA located in Noho at 355 Bowery between 3rd and 4th Street.

“Louis Vuitton: New-Way Suiting” F/W '09 Editorial

Louis Vuitton’s upcoming Fall/Winter collection is shown in a very creative Editorial featured in the current issue of 10 Men Magazine. Styled by David Vandewal and photographed by Serge LeBlon, Tom Nicon and Jakob Hybholt take to eccentric makeup and hair coloring for a artistic look at serious suiting.

Bibi Chemnitz S/S '10

The latest collection from Danish label, Bibi Chemnitz is titled, “I am the same, only more”. The title comes from the words of the late Danish ballet star, Erik Bruhn. In terms of the label, the quote represents Bibi Chemnitz’s growth and maturity. Approaching basic garments with a modernist’s view of shapes and silhouettes, wistful tops and sweatshirts fall in a loose, natural manner that perfectly compliments the comfortable nature of the collection’s trousers and sweats. A relatively new label, having been founded in 2006, designers Bibi Chemnitz and David Røgilds are steadfast in their efforts to expand and hopeful to excel in their full capacity.

SUPER BIG 3!

For August 2009, Vogue Korea has 3 different covers which boast 3 SUPERmodel Icons. My favorite model, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Eva Herzigova. The three have a spread inside called “Super Big 3". All of the looks are amazing. Those who know me, know that Naomi Campbell is my favorite supermodel of ALL time, and I stand behind everything she does. I may have to get all 3 covers.

Model, Designer, Stylist and Actress?!?

Erin Wasson is a well-balanced woman. To top off her majorly successful modeling career, she’s worked with Alexander Wang to style his shows, created a jewelry line, styled a shoot for Elle, designed a collection for RVCA (and will be in the Tents this season), and now is making an appearance in Sofia Coppola’s film Somewhere.

Although Erin only has a bit part as Party Girl #1, every model turned designer turned actress starts somewhere—and clearly Erin is not the type to fade into the background.

Somewhere, which finished filming last week, is about an actor who has fallen prey to the party lifestyle while living at the Chateau Marmont. His life is disrupted when his 11-year-old daughter shows up and he is forced to reexamine his drunk and disorderly ways.

But even if Erin’s small role doesn’t launch her into a successful movie career right away, there’s no need to worry—she has styling, fashion design, editing, and jewelry creations to fall back on. Not to mention her successful modeling career.

“On The Edge Of” Editorial.

Stylist Lucio Colapietro readied a great variety of looks to be worn by Axel Tiderman for an editorial entitled “On The Edge Of” photographed by photographer Marcelo Capizzano. I do not know which publication this editorial will be featured in as of yet but I am looking forward to having it in print.

“Illuminati” Editorial

Photographer, art director and stylist, Antonella Arismendi shows us
a very dark and peculiar editorial for D Magazine. The editorial seems
to have been shot at an abandoned location. The models are: Alex
Nestor (Blonde Hair) and Yamil Castiglione (Black Hair). You HAVE
to get into the heels in the second picture. And that Headpiece!

Georgina Vendrell F/W '09

Georgina Vendrell’s Fall/Winter 2009 collection is entitled “51” after the cold and
dark winter of finland and the number of bright days in the country. The style of this
third collection is simple and dark, with many different fabrics (noticeably faux fur)
playing on mat and shiny, and a great diversity of shapes for a contemporary man.
black is predominant and mixed with grey, brown, red, cream, blue or purple. The
youthful silhouettes are comfortable, mixing sportswear and tailoring with a punk-like
schoolboy feel.
