Ann Demeulemeester S/S '10

Belgian designer Ann Demeulemeester used great amounts of leather
to put the edge back into her designs. Although the collection’s airy
robes do have a sensitive quality to them, Halter-top waistcoats make
a sharp impression while a reworked cummerbund belt from fall 2009
makes an appearance. From the knits’ and blazers subtle sequin emb-
ellishments to the high black combat-like boots, luster and sheen
become a welcomed attribute of the collection, while headbands and
hooded outerwear add a urban charm to the garments. My favorites
are the first and second looks.
