Property of Yves Saint Laurent.



Furnishings and fine art from the personal collection of late designer, Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Bergé are set to be auctioned off at Christies on the 17th, 18th & 19th of November this year. The collection contains works by Picasso, Matisse, Mondrian and Degas as well as furniture, sculptures and textiles. The auction of 1,200 items is valued at over 5.7 million dollars (4 million euros). Proceeds of the auction are set to go to the research and funding of AIDS and HIV. Among the items previously listed, personal items including: Louis Vuitton luggage, three crocodile-skin Hermès suitcases and Yves Saint Laurent’s last car, a Mercedes Benz S-class, will also be up for auction. The pieces are a tribute to the legacy and great taste of Yves Saint Laurent prior to the designer’s passing in june of 2008.

The first sale of treasures belonging to Saint Laurent and his companion and business partner, Pierre Berge, raised more than 525 million dollars (370 million euros).
